We are Pasta and Aby, a cosplaying couple from Germany.
Cosplaying since 2008, or 2004 respectively, we have spent many years on this beautiful hobby, never getting quite bored of it (with some mentionable highs and lows in interest). We met through cosplay and have now been married for almost 3 years.
The beautiful thing about cosplay is how versatile it can be – one moment you sew a dress, the next you craft an armor and after that you hit the stage to perform a skit
The majority of our costumes is selfmade – with some exemptions from the rule. We enjoy the crafting process about as much as to wear the results and have learnt many different techniques over the years.
To showcase our costumes and tell our favourite characters’ stories, we shoot photos and videos – sometimes by ourselves but mostly with our lovely friends (like in this example, which was taken by @elvesgonewild__).
We love to bring our favourite characters to live. For the “play” part of “cosplay”, we write short skits and perform them on stage during cosplay competitions. Sometimes, we even win a prize.
Who thought that a series playing in hell could spark so much joy? We surely did not, until we finished watching “Hazbin Hotel”.
When watching the first episodes of Vivziepop’s adult cartoon on Prime, we were a bit confused. “The pacing is way too fast and why does everyone always have to sing?”, or something like this was our first impression. That surely didn’t last as each new episode dragged us into the most quirky version of hell imaginable.
Do you also have those stories that you can read over and over again, because they give you this cozy feeling of a cold autumn day in front of the chimney?
For us (well, mostly for Aby), those stories are the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his loyal sidekick Dr. John H. Watson. The German audiobooks in particular are what inspired us to cosplay as our favourite roommates for the book fair in 2024.
