The Locked Tomb Cosplay Photoshoot – Camilla Hect & Palamedes Sextus

When timetravellingprincess said that Aby would probably enjoy reading the The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir, because there were lesbian necromancers travelling through space, we didn’t expect that there were bookcosplay plans on the horizon. In fact, I (Pasta) had a bit of a hard time getting into the series, as we only listened to the audiobooks at first while crafting and while the worldbuilding and its characters is amazing, it was also hard to follow for me and I lost focus a lot.

Eventually, we were both hooked though and fell in love with Camilla and Palamedes and their beautiful relationship in Gideon the Ninth.

Aby created designs for both characters and we went fabric shopping together and then sewed these costumes really fast. (I think it took me only three weekends to finish Camilla)

Funfact: We both got a haircut for these cosplays and used our real hair to portray the characters. :3

Funfact2: Camillas & Palamedes eyes were both described as different tones of grey. Aby’s eyes are very dark, mine are light – so we got the same type of colored contact lenses and got lucky, because they definitely looked different and just like we wanted. :3

We shot the photos in our living room, taking turns while taking photos of each other, and used the remote release and an app (if you look closely, you can still spot the smartphone in Palamedes hands on some photos) for the photos of both of us.

We hope you enjoy!
